Frontier Days' parade marshall and route announced

Swift Current Agricultural and Exhibition Association celebrates 80th Anniversary ‘Hats off to Community Spirit’’ and is proud to announce that the Frontier Days 2018 (June 30) Parade Marshall is Betty McDougall.

 Retired educator, Betty McDougall of Swift Current, has reached out to her community and province in diverse areas and interests. Betty has been an instrumental volunteer and resident in Swift Current for over 30 years. She has contributed her time to ensure that all members of the community have the opportunity to lead a healthy lifestyle.

She has exemplified a level of commitment to community leadership that serves as a model for others.
Betty has worked and been very instrumental in the programming of many important organizations in our community. Betty is always helping to make our community a great place to live, through the various roles that she has taken on, she continuously helps to improve the quality of life in her community and province.

Swift Current’s annual Frontier Days is scheduled for June 28, 29, 30, July 1, 2018 with the 80th Frontier Days Parade on June 30 beginning at 10 a.m.. This year’s theme is:
“Hats off to Community Spirit”.  We invite you to check out the parade entry form on line and be part of the celebrations. Last year, there were over 90 entries in the parade, with an estimated 10,000 cheering along the parade route.   Frontier Days is a tradition in Swift Current - good family style entertainment enjoyed by visitors from surrounding

West on Chaplin St.
North on 9th Ave N.E. (Elmwood Park)
West on Herbert St. (Swift Current Shrine Club Hall)
South on Central Ave N. (Post Office)
East on Cheadle St. (Sub Way)
South on 2nd Ave N.E. (Over pass)
West on McIntosh St. (South end of St. Joe’s School)
South on Central Ave S. (Prairie Pioneer Lodge)
Parade ends at Gibbs St. (South end of the Palliser Regional Care Centre)
The 80th annual Frontier Days Fair and Rodeo continues to host rodeo’s top competitors on June 28-30, July 1, at the Jerry Myers Arena, Swift Current Kinetic Exhibition Park.  Frontier Days is one of the largest events in Southwest Saskatchewan.  4-H Livestock Shows, the West Coast Midway, Lighthorse, Cutting Horse, Ranch Horse and Heavy Horse events, commercial exhibits, grandstand entertainment, Doc’s Town Heritage Village, and more.
