Swift Current Municipal Detachment members work through challenging weekend

The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated by the Swift Current Municipal RCMP:


MAY-25:
4:53 PM -911 hang up on the 100 block of 4th Avenue N.W. Officers attended & determined there was no emergency.
9:57 PM - request for wellbeing check on caller's youth daughter's. Officers determined the girls to be well.
11 :08 PM -911 call of an adult female attending the caller's location on the 100 block of North Service Road W. & he is not to have contact with the female. All parties left the location & the caller did not speak to the female.
11 :46 PM -911 call to a location on the 1400 block of North Service Road E. requesting assistance with an intoxicated male subject. Officers attended the location & arrested the male subject who was held until sober. The male was charged under the Alcohol & Gaming Regulations Act.
MAY-26
1 :31 AM - 911 call of a male youth placing patio furniture under the caller's window on the 1300 block of Chaplin Street E. Officers attended the location & arrested the male who was determined to be breaching the conditions of his undertaking.
2: 17 AM - report of male sleeping on a bench on the 1700 block of North Service Road E. Officers attended but were not able to locate the male.
5:07 AM - report of a vehicle with no lights on parked in the middle of the street on South Railway Street E. Officers made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle.
8:34 AM - report of vandalism to a location on the 400 block of 4th Avenue S.E. Officers attended & discovered broken glass, several beer bottles & a metal pole was bent. Officers enquired with members of the public that reside in the area  however no one saw or heard anything over night.
9:47 AM - report of a suicidal female. Officers & EMS attended. The female was transported to the hospital by EMS.
3:06 PM - 911 call of a rock causing damage to the passenger side window of a vehicle in the parking lot of a location on the 1400 block of North Service Road E. The rock came from a lawn mower nearby. Police attendance was not required & advised the caller to contact their insurance company.
4:43 PM - report of a two vehicle collision at the intersection of George Street E & 9th Avenue N.E. A white Chevrolet Cobalt rear ended a white Dodge Ram. No one was injured in the collision. The female driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
6:44 PM - report of an adult male breaching the no contact conditions of his undertaking. This matter is still under investigation.
8:06 PM - report of six intoxicated subjects sitting on a picnic table on Central Avenue N. Officers made patrols & did not see anything criminal taking place.
8:14 PM - report of a mailbox being twisted & hanging funny. The caller found a cherry bomb firework inside the mailbox. Officers made neighbourhood inquiries who stated they heard something but did not see anything.
8:34 PM - report of an intoxicated female youth trying to use fake identification to get into an event on the 2000 block of Chaplin Street E. Officers attended & arrested the female who was held until being released to a legal guardian.
8:46 PM -officer out on patrol when he located an adult male walking on Chaplin Street E. with an open can of beer. The male was charged under the Alcohol & Gaming Regulations Act.
8:47 PM -911 call of an adult female that showed up at a neighbours barbeque that had just been assaulted by her boyfriend. Officers attended & arrested 49 year old John Flottvik of Swift Current. Flottvik has been charged with assault, uttering threats, sexual assault. theft under $5000 & breaching the condition of his recognizance. He appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on May 28th, 2018.
9:21 PM - report of a large dog loose on 6th Avenue N.W. City of Swift Current dog catcher contacted & attended the location.
9:32 PM - report of two vehicle collision that happened earlier in a parking lot on 500 block of 4th Avenue N. E. A red Volkswagan Jetta had hit a blue Nissan Armada. No one was injured in the collision. Information was exchanged & both parties were advised to contact their insurance providers.
10:28 PM - report of five semis parked on the 500 block of North Service Road E. Officers attended the location but the semis had left prior to officer arrival.
10:30 PM - report of an intoxicated male creating problems at an event on the 2000 block of Chaplin Street E. Officers attended & arrested the male who was released from custody once sober.
11:15 PM - report of an alarm at a business on the 400 block of North Service Road W. Officers attended & determined the alarm to be false.
2018-MAY-27
12:02 AM -report of a ten year old female riding around on a bicycle in the parking lot of a location on the 2000 block of Chaplin Street E. with an adult male collecting bottles. Officers attended & located both individuals, both adults, collecting bottles. The two individuals were causing no issues & nothing criminal was taking place.
1 AM -while on patrol officers were flagged down by staff at an event on the 2000 block of Chaplin Street E. advising there was an intoxicated adult female who had been removed from the event & was refusing to get into a taxi cab. Officers arrested the female & she was held until sober without charges.
1:21 AM - officer with the Combined Traffic Services unit was on patrol & conducted a traffic stop on a black Dodge Charger on Chaplin Street E. for speeding & upon it's stop the male driver smelled strongly of alcohol. 22 year old John Elevado of Swift Current has been charged with impaired operation & two counts of breaching his probation order. Elevado will be appearing in Swift Current Provincial Court June 27th, 2018.
1:30 AM - report of two adult males causing issues at an event on the 2000 block of Chaplin Street E. Officers attended & arrested the two male individuals who were intoxicated. Both males were held until sober & released without charges.
2:20 AM - 911 call of a suspicious person in the parking lot of a location on the 400 block of North Service Road E. The individual was described as an approximately 13 year old male wearing a brown dress, carrying a bag & appeared to be checking cars & was now walking eastbound. Officers attended & located the individual who was an adult female. She had no property on her person & advised she was picking up cigarette butts. Officers provided the female with a ride home .
12:10 PM - report from an adult male advising that he believes he was possibly drugged while attending a location on the 0 block of Central Avenue N. the night prior & was missing his wallet & keys. His wallet & keys have since been found & turned into the Detachment & were then returned to the owner. This matter is still under investigation.
4:32 PM - report of a hit & run to a black Ford F150 on the 500 block of 2nd Avenue N.E. sometime over night while parked on the street causing damage to the driver's side of the vehicle. No suspects & no witnesses.
7:43 PM - report of a rock being thrown at a windshield causing damage to it on the 600 block of 6th Avenue N.W. This matter is still under investigation.
7:58 PM -911 hang up call from a location on the 2200 block of Woodrow Lloyd Place. Officers determined there was no emergency & 911 had been dialed by mistake.
8:25 PM - report of a black Pontiac Torrent with no licence plate & no permit on it in the parking lot of a business on the 1100 block of 6th Avenue N.E. The vehicle has since moved to the parking lot across the street. Officers attended the location & made patrols but they couldn't find any vehicles matching the description provided that did not have a licence
plate.
10:11 PM - report of a black dog running around on Highway #1. Officers made patrols but did not see a dog.
10: 12 PM - report of an alarm at the front door of a business on the 1700 block of North Service Road E. Alarm was cancelled prior to officer arrival.
10:28 PM - report of five adults smoking marijuana outside with a young child running around in the parking lot of the 500 block of Robert Street E. Officers attended the location & did not located any one in the parking lot.
11 :00 PM - report of a break & enter in progress on the O block of Central Avenue N. Officers attended the location & determined for break & enter was occurring. The tenants of the unit next door had locked themselves out of their suite.
11 :48 PM -911 call from a female advising she was called & told that if she didn't pay money the police were coming to
arrest her. The caller was advised that there was no one attending to arrest her & its the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
Scam. The female was provided with the number to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre to report the call.
The Combined Traffic Services unit was also in Swift Current over the weekend & issued 56 Summary Offence tickets, 22
written warnings, 24 vehicle defect inspections & had 6 vehicle impoundments with licence suspensions.
