Swift Current RCMP calls for service May 11-13

The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated:

6:22 PM -report of a male yelling & swearing at some youth on the 500 block of Robert Street E. Officers attended &
located the male & warned him for causing a disturbance. No criminal charges were laid in relation to the incident.
11 :58 PM -officer was out on patrol when they observed a red GMC 1500 stunting/drifting around a corner through an
intersection near Chaplin Street W. The male driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
12:10 AM -officer was out on patrol when they observed a black Dodge Ram in the parking lot of a business on the 200
block of Central Ave. N. When the vehicle was approached by the officer he could smell a strong odor of marijuana. The
two male occupants were arrested for possession but were released without criminal charges. Both males were given
warnings about possession of marijuana. There was no evidence of the driver being impaired at the time. No criminal
charges were laid in relation to the incident.
12:36 AM -officer was in the parking lot of a business on the 200 block of Central Ave. N. when they observed a red
Dodge Dakota revving his engine, fishtailing his vehicle & someone yelling "whoop" out the window. The vehicle was
stopped & the male driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
12:50 AM -officer was out on patrol when they attempted to stop a grey Ford Edge for driver's licence & sobrity check on
Lorne Street W. The vehicle sped up when the emergency lights were activated on the police vehicle & would not pull
over. Officers terminated their pursuit of the vehicle as the risk to public safety was too great. No plate number was able
to be obtained. Officers made patrols later on but were still not able to locate any vehicles matching it's description.
10:04 AM -report of a male who is on an order & is not to be within 50 meters of the female caller was in the same
location as her the night prior. Officers determined that no breach occured as the male left the area immediately when he
saw the female.
10:59 AM - report of a male who was asked to leave a business on the 100 block of Central Ave. N. was now standing
outside the business on the sidewalk. Officers attended & asked the male to leave, he complied.
11 :09 AM - report of a blue Honda Civic that's been abandoned in a parking lot on the 700 block of South Service Road E.
Officers attended & confirmed that the vehicle was not stolen however was unregistered.
4:05 PM -report of the callers daughter's boyfriend making threats towards a male that is residing in their home. Officers
spoke to all parties involved & the male the threat was made toward does not wish to pursue the matter .
4: 17 PM -officers out on patrol & issued warning ticket to a female driver of a red Ford F150 for operating a motor vehicle
without valid registration.
10:49 PM - report of suspicious truck parking in the roadway of the 500 block of Rutherford Crescent still running. Officers
attended & located a lone female who advised she'd just dropped off her boss after work & they had been chatting for
serveral minutes prior to him exiting the vehicle.
10:52 PM - report of marijuana being found in a backpack on the O block of 1st Ave. N.E. Officers attended & found out
the backpack belonged to a female youth. The female was warned about possession of marijuana. No criminal charges
were laid in relation to the incident.
3:45 AM - report of an intoxicated female on a bench outside a business on Central Ave. N. Officers attended & located
the female in a truck with a couple who had stopped to offer her a ride home. The intoxicated female confirmed she was
okay & was driven home by the couple in the truck.
7:58 AM - report of the vehicle in the media release on line possibly being on Battleford Trail two nights prior. The caller
advised that she was not able to get a plate number & the vehicle left the area quickly after seeing her.
9:36 AM - report of a confrontation at a location near the 1200 block of 5th Ave. S.W. between a female & two youth
regarding her dog. This matter is still under investigation.
2:26 PM - report of a residential alarm on the 200 block of Burke Crescent. Alarm was cancelled by the homeowner prior
to police arrival.
3:43 PM - report of a group youth skateboarding in a parking lot of a business on the 600 block of Fentons Crescent. The
caller stated it looked like they were possibly filming what they were doing, nothing was being damaged. Officers did not
attend as there was nothing criminal happening.
5:20 PM - report of a male outside a business on the 100 block of Cheadle Street W. asking members of the public for
rides & for money. Officers made patrols but were unable to locate the male.
7:42 PM - 911 call of a break & enter occurring on the 100 block of North Service Road W. Officers attended & were
advised by the caller that people had been trying to enter his suite through the window & had everything on video. Officers
reviewed the camera footage where it showed nothing but the curtains. Caller realized that he may have been seeing
things & plans to follow up with his doctor.
8:04 PM - report of a male & female spray painting the washrooms at a location on the 200 block of 9th Ave. N.E. & them
taking photos of themselves before leaving the location. Officers made patrols & located the two individuals. The two did
not have any spray paint in their possession & no spray paint had been disposed of in any of the near by garbages around
the washroom. The spray paint on the building appeared to be old, leaving officers to believe the two were not
8:06 PM - request to have officers attend a location on the 2000 block of Chaplin Street E. to assist with keeping the
peace at an event being held. Officers attended & stayed until the event was over without any incidents occurring.
