The annual city-wide food drive on Halloween night collected an estimated 9,775 pounds of food for the Salvation Army food bank in Swift Current.

The food drive was organized by the Trailview Alliance Church and volunteers from a number of churches in the community participated in the event. This food drive contributes about 30 to 40 per cent of the non-perishable food items used in Christmas hampers prepared by the Salvation Army in Swift Current.

The Salvation Army's 104th annual Christmas campaign in Swift Current will be launched Nov. 25.
