Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do will be recognized by International Justice Mission for its efforts to stop human trafficking on Tuesday, October 3.

IJM’s director of development and mobilization, David Pollendine, will be presenting Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do with an award for raising the most money in North America, during the annual Breaking Boards, Breaking Chains campaign that took place in April.

In 2017, students of Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do gathered pledges and raised a record-breaking amount of $12,500 in donations to help IJM secure justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. The success would not have been possible without support of the community and sponsors: Church of the Open Bible, Great Plains College, Trailview Builders and Tim Hortons.

Since its start in 2013, the Breaking Boards, Breaking Chains campaign, which runs through martial arts schools across Canada and the USA, has raised a total of $162,000 for IJM.
