The Saskatchewan RCMP, in consultation with the Saskatchewan Provincial Crown, have charged Dale Malbeuf with one count of possession of a restricted firearm without a registration certificate, section 91(3) of the Criminal Code.  He was scheduled to appear in Swift Current court on July 19, at 9:30 a.m.

Malbeuf is a constable with Morse RCMP and has been suspended with pay since December 13, 2016 when an RCMP Code of Conduct was ordered to investigate his actions.  Edmonton Police Service (EPS) charged him with two offences related to allegations he produced and pointed a firearm at an adult female at a residence in Edmonton on December 13, 2016.
He was charged with one count, pointing a firearm, section 87(1) of the Criminal Code and one count, careless use of a firearm, section 86(1) of the Criminal Code.
There is no change to his duty status and he remains suspended with pay and his actions continue to be the subject of the ongoing RCMP Code of Conduct investigation.
Cst. Malbeuf appeared in Edmonton Provincial Court on December 14, 2016 and was released with conditions.
As this matter is before the courts and the member is subject to an RCMP Code of Conduct; therefore, the RCMP will not be making any further comment at this time.
