The Board of Directors of the Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce announced June 23 Chief Executive Officer, Clayton Wicks, has resigned from his position effective immediately.

The Board will issue a Request for Proposals to appoint a replacement for the contract position.
“The Board appreciates Clayton’s work as CEO over the past 18 months and we acknowledge his involvement as a past director on the board. We wish Clayton well in his future endeavours,” said Brock Friesen, board chair.
“The Chamber has worked hard this year to raise the organization’s visibility in the business community and increase the value our members receive,” added Friesen, referencing the sold-out Farmer’s Appreciation Night held in March and the recent Chamber on Tap event at the Saskatchewan Abilities Council, earlier this month, as being the highest attended Chamber networking event this year.
As the search for a new CEO begins, the board of directors assures members that upcoming events will continue to build on this recent success.
“Our next Chamber on Tap will be on July 5 hosted at the Newcomer Welcome Centre and we will be releasing details of the new nomination process for the Swift Current Business Excellence Awards in July,” adds Friesen. “As well, we have an exciting announcement involving local business students to be released in September.”
In the interim, the board of directors executive committee along with Executive Assistant Mike Rogowski, will oversee the daily operations of the Chamber.
