The Swift Current Agricultural and Exhibition Association is pleased to announce the 2017 Frontier Days Ambassador is Brooklynn Becker.

Becker grew up on the back of a horse on her family farm by Hazlet. She has been a member of the Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association and Speedy Creek Barrel Racing Club. She can also be found working the stripping chutes at the rodeos. She is involved with the school wrestling and volleyball teams and continues with her own jewellery business, ‘Bling for Brooklynn’, which she started three years ago.
As the Frontier Days Ambassador, Becker would like to share the hospitality of the southwest and welcome all to this area. Her greatest passion is the Western lifestyle and the sense of community. Brooklynn takes great pride in being involved with the ranching and farming life. She looks forward to sharing the agricultural story of being a rancher, farmer, and cowgirl.
Her sponsors are the Swift Current Ag & Ex Association and Cowtown Swift Current.
The Miss Rodeo Frontier Days tradition began back in 1942. Young people from Swift Current and the surrounding area were invited to apply as a means of encouraging leadership skills and the knowledge of our western heritage. Each applicant has given their thoughts on their future and why they would like to become a spokesperson for the ranch and agricultural traditions.
The Ag and Ex Asscoaition staff are grateful for 2016 Ambassador Lexi Hicks and  her spirit of enthusiasm and positive outreach during Frontier Days, the Canadian Western Agribition and Canadian Cowboys Association Finals Rodeo. Hicks’ future path takes her to Calgary’s Mount Royal College majoring in Policy Studies, where she will also continue barrel racing at the College Rodeo level.
The Ag & Ex Board of Directors presented her with the $2,000 educational scholarship, and wish her all the best with her future endeavors.
