The 50/50 Raffle, conducted as a part of the Duck Derby this year, was also drawn on June 4th. The lucky winner of $1,897.50 CASH is Gary Fuchs!

Proceeds this year total $12,857.50. This is three times the amount raised over the previous year and an impressive number by all accounts. All proceeds support Southwest Crisis Services, helping individuals and families in overcoming the trauma of violence and abuse and working to end family and partner violence in Southwest SK.

Congratulations to all the prize winners and a huge thank you to everyone who bought Duck Derby or 50/50 Raffle Tickets this year. A special shout out goes to Knight Dodge, Standard Motors, and Cypress Motors who each bought 100 ducks and to all those who posted pictures and got involved in our social media #DuckDerbyDuckFace challenge.

Southwest Crisis Services would like to thank the Kiwanis Club of Swift Current for their ongoing support and partnership. It was Kiwanis members’ who sold tickets all throughout the month prior to the event in Pioneer Coop and it is Kiwanis members’ who managed all the logistics of the Duck Derby race that took place yesterday.

We’d like to thank Innovation Credit Union for selling tickets through their Advice Centers and hosting the Duck Derby as part of Picnic in the Park.

Everyone at Golden West Radio got behind Duck Derby this year and went above and beyond to help get the word out. Thank you for your exceptional service!

Finally, we’d like to give special mention to Shawn Mullin. Shawn is a member of the Southwest Crisis Services Board of Directors and also a local radio personality who generously used his skills and abilities to be a change-maker for this years’ Duck Derby. Shawn was the voice you heard both from stage and during the race. He helped to sell tickets, promote and build awareness for Duck Derby and was the inspiration and driver of the #DuckDerbyDuckFace initiative on social media.

“This Duck Derby will be one to remember. We took some risks, tried some new things, and were thrilled to see the momentum build, support pour in, and the fun be had. The funds raised this year will mean safety, peace and hope for thousands of Southwest SK residents. On behalf of Southwest Crisis Services, I’d like to offer my sincere thank you to the many volunteers, sponsors, and supporters that made this fundraiser a success. See you next year!” said Laura Beddome, Community Relations Coordinator and 2017 Event Organizer, Southwest Crisis Services.
