In recognition of the importance of Saskatchewan’s recreation, leisure and parks, the Government of Saskatchewan has once again proclaimed June as “Recreation & Parks Month” in Saskatchewan and the City of Swift Current has proclaimed June 4 – 10 as Recreation & Parks Week.

The City of Swift Current Community Services Division is excited to partner with Innovation Credit Union’s Picnic Inn The Park on June 4 to kick off the month-long celebrations.

Dean Robson, General Manager of Community Services, said “We are thrilled to be a partner and promote the importance of recreation, leisure and parks in our community and province. It is a great opportunity to showcase our beautiful City and the amazing parks, pathways and recreational activities that are offered here.”

There are many recreational and cultural events offered throughout the month of June and into the summer months. Stop by the Swift Current Branch Library and borrow your very own Nat Pack for a weekend of fun or check out the programs happening at Fairview Pool starting June 17th. Ladies are invited out to Groovin’ in the Park, a free fitness program on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Elmwood Park. Don’t forget about the annual Long Days Nights and Windscape Kite Festival from June 22 to the 25 and Frontier Days from June 28 to July 1.

For more information on these or other upcoming events, visit the City of Swift Current’s website at www.swiftcurrent.ca, like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.
