Community support helped the Swift Current SPCA to raise $18,562 during the 4th annual John Mueller Memorial SPCA Radiothon, May 25.

The day-long event was scheduled to take place at Market Square in downtown Swift Current, but it was moved indoors to the Swift Current Mall due to inclement weather. It is the SPCA's biggest fundraising event of the year and proceeds from the event will help to maintain operations at the animal shelter for about one month. The SPCA relies on public support to cover 80 per cent of the shelter's annual expenses to take care of stray or abandoned animals and to find new homes for them.

Swift Current Building Supplies was the premiere event sponsor for the Swift Current SPCA's 4th annual John Mueller Memorial Radiothon and Wolfe made a cheque presentation of $5,000 to the SPCA at the event. The company's founder, John Mueller, was an animal lover and he always had a pet at the business.
