Cindy R., a long-time Swift Current resident, has volunteered with the SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival for the past five years.

Her daughter has the talents and skills for a volunteer job face painting and really wanted to participate, but was too shy ‚ÄĒso Cindy decided to volunteer with her. Turns out Cindy really enjoyed not only painting children‚Äôs faces, but also the whole vibe of the festival.
Being an artist, Cindy also contributes to the Sculpture Garden every year.  She finds it a fantastic way to flex her artistic muscle, using various mediums she would otherwise not consider in her art.
Now, five years later, most of the members in Cindy’s family are volunteers. Several members of her extended family also create artwork that enacts with the wind for the festival each year. Cindy loves the fact the kite festival draws people from all over the world to a big field in the middle of Canada’s prairie grasslands.
Cindy wants other people, who are thinking of the possibility of volunteering, to know the festival is a low-key, fun way to give back to the community. There are so many positions available for any personality type.
To volunteer, just go to the  website www.windscape and follow the volunteer links.
