Wall's retirement announcement transcript

After serving as Premier of Saskatchewan for nearly 10 years, Premier Brad Wall today announced that he will be retiring from that position and elected politics when his party elects a new Leader. Wall released a video about his retirement.  The following is a transcript of his video statement:


The new CEO of the Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce wants to ensure the chamber is a strong voice for the business community.

The $2.5 million project to replace the main arena ice floor slab in the Innovation Credit Union i-plex is on schedule.

There has been good progress with the project to install overhead lighting along the Trans-Canada Highway corridor through Swift Current and it will be completed within the next few weeks.

The terms of the City of Swift Current’s agreement of financial assistance with the Elmwood Golf Club is set to change to allow the club to start with repayments.

Hildebrandt family updates dialysis chairs

Randy and Sheila Hildebrandt recently presented the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation with a cheque for $12,500, in memory of Randy’s father, Jacob R. (Jake) Hildebrandt.

While the first half of the 2017 real estate market in Swift Current has been holding steady, July sales figures will make the next quarter interesting to watch.

The City of Swift Current Parks Play Program and the Kiwanis Club have partnered together for our annual Kiwanis Coin Carnival event.

 On Friday, August 11 from 1 – 4:30 p.m. at Riverside Park, children are welcome to come and play carnival games, make crafts, and bounce around in our awesome bouncy castle.

During the early morning hours of Thursday July 27 a vehicle parked on 6th Avenue NE in Swift Current was rummaged through and a wallet was stolen.
