The City of Swift Current’s 2018 municipal budget, which includes a 13.14 per cent tax increase, was approved unanimously by councillors at a regular council meeting, Dec. 18.

It’s Christmas time in the city and people are bustling about trying to get that last-minute shopping done.

Swift Current lawyer gets Q.C. designation

Seventeen Saskatchewan lawyers are being honoured with the Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) designation for their contributions to the legal profession and public service. This list includes a Swift Current lawyer.

Saskatchewan Party members in Swift Current picked Everett Hindley to represent the party in an upcoming by-election in the city.
Over 400 party members attended the nomination meeting at the city’s Palliser Pavilion, Dec. 11.
