The Swift Current Centennial Committee has been hard at work over the past few months building the elements that will set the tone for the City’s 2014 Centennial Celebrations. 

Following an accident at the Swift Current Skate Park on June 28 that left David Woelk fighting for his life, his family and friends have teamed up with local businesses and individuals to set up the David Woelk and Family Assistance Fund. The fund is a way for the community to donate to help the family as they struggle through a challenging time.

Advance polls for Swift Current start today

Swift Current residents who are unable to vote in the civic election on Oct. 24 will have an opportunity to still cast their vote today and on Saturday in an advance poll.

The outbreak situation at the Swift Current Care Centre has been declared over under the guidance of Consulting Medical Health Officer Dr. David Torr.  The decision was reached this morning following a review of the situation and the individuals who had previously been showing signs and symptoms of a ‘norovirus-like’ illness.

For animal lovers their four-legged friends are an important part of family life and people will go to great lengths to provide their pets with the care they deserve.

A proposed new bylaw to regulate the City of Swift Current’s fire and emergency services might result in changes to the way firefighters respond to incidents.

The lights will remain on in Swift Current after a new collective agreement between the City and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 2067.

A charge of sexual assault against a former Swift Current teacher has been stayed.

Starting Oct. 15, SGI’s Swift Current branch office will be temporarily relocated in the Swift Current Mall.
