Summer fun ahead at Frontier Days

The countdown is on for this summer’s Frontier Days in Swift Current, which has been a mainstay in the city for more than 70 years.
The combination of midway rides, grandstand concerts, rodeo, horse and cattle shows and 4-H competitors from across southwest Saskatchewan promises to provide entertainment for the entire family.

The dreams of a few young men during the dusty Depression years to make Swift Current a better place gave the city a lasting legacy.
The story of the Kinetic Club, which was responsible for organizing Frontier Days in Swift Current from 1937 to 1950, was the topic of the lunch and learn talk at the Swift Current Museum June 13.

Swift Current man wins $50,750 on Western 649

Darcy Phillips learned that winning on the lottery is all about luck. The Swift Current man  chose his own numbers on his WESTERN 649 Combo Play ticket, but when all was said and done, it turned out to be an additional Quick Pick set of numbers that proved lucky. That Quick Pick matched five out of six numbers and the Bonus to win $50,750!
