Swift Current Comp. students helping Salvation Army

The Student Leadership Council at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School took it upon themselves to help out some of the members of our community who are facing struggles this time of the year.
The group organized a food and item drive to support the local Salvation Army, Southwest Crisis Services, and Operation Christmas Child.

The three historic Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) buildings located at the bottom end of Central Avenue in Swift Current is a constant reminder of the city’s railway past and a new feasibility study will look at ways to preserve that heritage.

As part of the ongoing celebration to honour Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the throne, Swift Current Mayor Jerrod Schafer awarded a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal to long term businessman and volunteer Ron Heeg.  

Swift Current residents got their first real taste of winter last weekend when a storm covered the entire southern Saskatchewan with a blanket of snow that measured from 15 to 30 centimetres in different areas.

The Swift Current and District Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP) wants to make more families across southwest Saskatchewan aware of the support services available through this home visitation program.
