Ugly end for an ugly win for the Calgary Hitmen

It was an ugly way to end game four for the Swift Current Broncos.

On Tuesday, March 26, 2013, the City of Swift Current received notice from the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency (WSA) indicating there will be a further small increase to the outflow being released from the Duncairn Dam Reservoir.

There are probably a few bleary-eyed Swift Current Broncos' fans this morning at the water cooler: at least they're happy.

Ouch. The resolve in the Swift Current Broncos is more than admirable, but in the end a loss is still a loss, albeit one in overtime on a ahem, fortunate goal for the Calgary Hitmen.

Following a two week nomination process, an independent panel of judges selected forty winners from hundreds of nominees as the top leaders, builders, or change-makers under the age of forty who are making a significant difference in their field to help shape the future of the Saskatchewan. 

A group of Grade 9 to 12 students from Swift Current are preparing to participate in the first ever regional robotics competition in western Canada, where teams will be challenging each other with frisbee-shooting robots.

Ironically, Swift Current photographer Craig Hilts was dreaming of a warm place south of the border last Thursday and it wasn’t for his upcoming vacation either.
