Council approves funding for all-weather track

A partnership between the City of Swift Current and the Chinook School Division will result in the construction of the only all-weather track in southwest Saskatchewan.

Tickets are still available for Thursday’s Acklands-Grainger Carhartts and Caviar fundraiser at Great Plains College (129 - 2nd Ave. NE).

Kennedy inspires youth at The Centre

The Center offered a wonderful chance for youth to enjoy an intimate question and answer session with former Swift Current Bronco Sheldon Kennedy on Feb. 15.

There are more potholes on Swift Current streets this winter than in recent years and the City’s public works crews are already out patching them.

With spring just around the corner the City of Swift Current Recreation & Parks Department has been busy planning the 18th Annual Spring/Summer City Wide Registration nights.

Swift Current area residents had an opportunity to learn more about Idle No More from one of the movement’s co-founders during a teach-in gathering at the Great Plains College Feb. 15.

The R.M. of Swift Current has had the opportunity to discuss the recent decision of the Municipal Boundary Committee of the Saskatchewan Municipal Board regarding the application from the City of Swift Current to annex the commercial strip on the west end of the City to Lac Pelletier Trail.
