Volunteers strengthen and make local communities vibrant. The Cypress Health Region is indebted to the many volunteers that play an important role in daily activities and is utilizing National Volunteer Week (April 21-27) to say a formal thank-you.

 Brand new Team Saskatchewan had their first roller derby bout against the Alberta All-Stars in Moose Jaw on April 20, and although the team was unable to pull off a win, local derby player Stephanie St. Cyr (Jinger Vitis) is feeling good about her own performance.

The 2009 Professional Bull Riders (PBR) world champion Kody Lostroh is looking forward to more than just a brief stopover in Swift Current on May 25, when he is scheduled to participate in his first bull riding event in that city.

The Swift Current SPCA is celebrating its 40th year of animal care with a reduced cat adoption fee.

Swift Current Ag & Ex is gearing up for their second Annual Discover The Farm: Poultry & Exotic Animal Sale, which offers an opportunity for both producers and families to see some incredible animals and enjoy interactive displays.
