A large gift from the estate of a Simmie-area farmer will be used to provide annual scholarships for students in trades-related programs at the Great Plains College.

The nominations are now closed, but it appears as though executive director Darla Lindbjerg will have some talented individuals to work with on the Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

 

Swift Current's Betty McDougall is being acknowledged for all of her hard work.

Swift Current made the cut Saturday night and was chosen as one of only eight communities in Western Canada still in the running for the grand prize package for Kraft Hockeyville 2014.

Four hundred and fifty individuals participated in Swift Current’s 2nd annual Wellness Challenge from January 13 to February 23.  The participants had to keep track of daily points in the areas of nutrition, physical activity, water consumption and hours of sleep.
