Some Swift Current area residents are saddened by the decision of Premier Brad Wall to retire from politics, but others feel it is the right time for him to do so.

The Saskatchewan Party is looking for a new leader and Swift Current residents will have a new MLA in the near future after the announcement by Premier Brad Wall that he is leaving politics behind.

The City of Swift Current wishes to advise utility customers that we are aware of a telephone scam currently taking place in our community.

After serving as Premier of Saskatchewan for nearly 10 years, Premier Brad Wall today announced that he will be retiring from that position and elected politics when his party elects a new Leader. Wall released a video about his retirement.  The following is a transcript of his video statement:

 

The new CEO of the Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce wants to ensure the chamber is a strong voice for the business community.

The $2.5 million project to replace the main arena ice floor slab in the Innovation Credit Union i-plex is on schedule.

There has been good progress with the project to install overhead lighting along the Trans-Canada Highway corridor through Swift Current and it will be completed within the next few weeks.

The terms of the City of Swift Current’s agreement of financial assistance with the Elmwood Golf Club is set to change to allow the club to start with repayments.
