The 3rd Annual Go Green Friday environmental initiative has been planned for Oct. 14 in Swift Current.

Stark & Marsh, Chartered Accountants, LLP is the leading organization of the event and is again working with the City of Swift Current on a list of activities for participants.

"Last year, we were very pleased with the support for Go Green Friday from a community participation standpoint as well as the general positive feedback for the event," said Stark and Marsh Chief Operating Office Elden Moberg. "As a firm, we feel it's important to give back to the community in which we live, and I think many others are looking for avenues to contribute environmentally as well."

Members of the Stark &Marsh staff will be providing labour for the event for either a morning or afternoon shift.

Planned activities include tree planting and cleanup of the creek bank and parkways.

All other businesses wishing to have their staff participate or other members of the community interested in helping out are encouraged to contact Stark and Marsh to sign up.

For those that can't participate actively in the event, there's still a way to show support.

"We are asking those that can't directly get involved in the day's activities because of their work schedule to take a little extra time that day to either walk to their place of work or car pool if possible. It's a added way to support the environment for this specific day but it may also be something that works into your schedule long term."
