Chinook School Division held its annual Organizational Meeting Elections on Nov. 14.

It was announced that Randy Beler and Larry Caswell are both re-elected and will continue as Chair and Vice Chair respectively for the 2011-2012 term.

Randy Beler is a trustee for the City of Swift Current, where he and his young family moved almost 30 years ago. A Board member since Chinook School Division was formed in June 2005, he was elected Chair in October 2009.

“I feel privileged and humbled to be re-elected by fellow Board members for another term. I’m looking forward to working with the trustees for another year and continuing to support the vision of Chinook through advocacy and communication with our stakeholders.”

Prior to the formation of Chinook School Division, Randy was a trustee for the Swift Current School Division for eleven years.

Larry Caswell represents subdivision #2 in the northern central section of Chinook that includes schools in Abbey, Cabri, Hazlet, Stewart Valley and Success. He was elected as a Board member when Chinook was formed in June 2005 as well.

“We have a Board that is highly invested in the well-being and education of students in the Southwest, and I am proud to be a part of that. I want to thank the other trustees for putting their confidence in me for another term.”

Caswell has spent most of his life in southwest Saskatchewan and was elected to the Prairie West School Division (Swift Current Rural School Division) in 1988.
