A sold-out crowd of 220 people helped make the fifth annual SunDogs Auction Extravaganza another overwhelming success, raising $14,000 for the SunDogs Athletics program and scholarships.

Held Friday at the Eagles Club in Swift Current the event featured an Auction X, silent auction, and live auction. With help from emcee Ryan Switzer and auctioneer Gordie Cameron the items sold included a flight-hotel-ticket package to the 2011 Grey Cup, a 50-inch plasma TV, four autographed hockey jerseys, and vacation packages at Lac La Ronge, Tobin Lake, and Waterton Lakes National Park.
“SunDogs athletics are a major part of the college’s fabric and we’re extremely happy to see the community once again support the program’s major fundraiser,” said Keleah Ostrander, director of planning and communications at GPC.
Great Plains College would like to once again thank the sponsors, volunteers, and community members who supported this year’s auction in any way, with special thanks to platinum sponsors Melhoff Electric, Stark and Marsh Chartered Accountants, and Boston Pizza (who provided the halftime buffet).
