Swift Current's Central School raised a record amount of $13,594.23 for Telemiracle 42 through a variety of fundraising projects and donations received from the community.

 

The school choir and bucket drummers performed at Telemiracle 42 on March 4, when music teacher Celia Hammerton and choir members made a formal cheque presentation on stage. The choir received a rousing send-off at the school during a pep rally on March 2. Another large donation from Swift Current was made on stage at Telemiracle 42 by the Swift Current Kinsmen and Kinette Club, which presented a cheque of $17,420.49. The money was raised through various events in the city in support of Telemiracle. This year's 42nd annual telethon achieved a new fundraising record of $7,151,256 that will be used to assist Saskatchewan residents to acquire special needs equipment and to access medical treatment.
