David Anderson, Member of Parliament for Cypress Hills-Grasslands is proud to recognize Canada’s 150th Birthday by honouring citizens with the Celebrate Canada 150 Medal.

“Our country is strong because our communities are strong,” said Anderson. “I want to celebrate the people of Cypress Hills—Grasslands who have been community builders and have brought people together.”
It has always been a tradition for the Government of Canada to issue a commemorative medal to celebrate Canada’s milestones. These medals provide Canadians the opportunity to recognize each other for their contributions to community and country. Unfortunately, the Liberal government is not issuing a medal on Canada’s sesquicentennial.
“For some reason on this 150th birthday of Canada, the Trudeau Liberals refused to issue a medal for Canadians,” said Anderson. “However, several MPs have decided that if they won’t do it, we will. I encourage you to nominate someone for the Cypress Hills—Grasslands Celebrate Canada 150 Medal.”
Nominations will be accepted until September 15, 2017 in the following categories:
Ø  Nation Builders
Ø  Veterans
Ø  Tomorrow’s Canada
Ø  Bridge Builders
Ø  Newcomers Building Canada
