Grasslands National Park invites Canadians to the Grasslander Classic Event July 28-30 to celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary in 2017.


To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017, the Government of Canada invites Canadians to experience nature and learn more about our history.
Canada’s national parks and historic sites enable Canadians to experience their rich history and heritage in a special way and will play a big part in the celebration of Canada 150.
In Grasslands National Park, Parks Canada invites Canadians to celebrate with the Grasslander Classic Event being held July 28-30.
Kick off the weekend Friday in Val Marie by welcoming hometown NHL hockey legend Bryan Trottier, followed by an evening of dinner and entertainment.
Enjoy a pancake breakfast, parade and local marketplace in Val Marie Saturday morning before heading to the Frenchman Valley Campground for kayaking, wagon rides, a kid activities pavilion, bison facility tours, and more.
Pre-register a team for the ball hockey tournament and battle it out for the title. 
Dance the afternoon away and into the evening at the outdoor concert with Guy and the Fellas, local band Navajo, and Buckshot.
