Saskatchewan’s big game draw opens May 1, and hunters have until midnight on May 25 to submit their online applications.

The Cypress Regional Hospital has reached a significant milestone today as this date ten years ago saw the facility receive its first inpatients.

The decision by the Saskatchewan government to restore funding for regional and municipal libraries to the 2016-17 funding levels came as a huge relief for Chinook Regional Library Director Dr. Jean McKendry, who was preparing to implement some drastic measures after a large reduction in funding to libraries in the 2017-18 provincial budget.

From April 28-30, the Saskatchewan Archaeological Society (SAS) will hold its 54th Annual Gathering at The Resort at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park in partnership with the Archaeological Society of Alberta — Southeastern Centre.

The Government of Saskatchewan announced today that it will be restoring funding for Saskatchewan libraries back to the 2016-17 funding levels to ensure that regional and municipal libraries and the interlibrary loan services remain operational.  Today’s announcement will provide $4.8 million in addition to the $3.5 million that was announced on budget day, March 22.

The Chinook School Division will have to implement significant structural changes, including some staff reductions, to deal with a budget shortfall of 7.3 per cent.
