Proposal: Southern Alberta to get another MP

Voters throughout southern Alberta could see some major changes in the next federal election with the addition of a new electoral district.

The Whitehead family, who reside in Southern Alberta, are hoping by sharing their story, more families will choose to keep their routine immunizations up to date.

Parks Day activities in Elkwater July 21

There will be a lot of opportunities for residents to head to Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park-Alberta this weekend to celebrate national Parks Day.

There will be a lot of fun and interesting activities for visitors to Waterton Lakes National Park for Parks Day July 21.
A highlight of the day will be performances by a group of singing park wardens. The group travels to various national parks sharing the special performances.

Now is the public’s opportunity to have its say on potential changes to how municipal elections are run including how often they occur and when. The provincial government is reviewing the Local Authorities Election Act and Albertans have until the end of July to fill out a survey which will help shape any future changes.

About 9,100 people in Medicine Hat earn less than $15 an hour giving the City the distinction of have the highest percentage of low-wage workers of the seven cities in Alberta.

Those people who enjoy music festivals may be lucky enough to have a country music festival in their own backyard, so to speak, that is, if they vote for the Crowsnest Pass to win the Small Town Saturday Night contest sponsored by Big Valley Jamboree and Alberta Tourism.
As one of 10 finalists for the April 28 event, the Crowsnest Pass is competing to host what’s described as a mini Big Valley Jamboree and is calling on all southern Albertans to cast their votes, taking note the voting window is exceedingly tight and closes March 20 at 11:59 p.m.
