The Great Plains College SunDogs basketball season came to an end after a first round loss to the Saskatchewan Polytech Moose Jaw Panthers in the Provincial Prairie Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament last Friday.

The SunDogs were the championship tournament hosts with games at Swift Current’s O.M. Irwin Middle School.
The game was close early on, as both teams shot the ball well. A late run in the second quarter powered the Panthers to a 13-point halftime lead.
Once Kristian Lubi, the SunDogs’ third leading scorer, fouled out, the Panthers continued to take control and rolled to 109-85 win.  The SunDogs were led by Matthew Benesh (earlier voted as an all-star and league MVP) with 38 points, 19 rebounds and two assists, Ben de Gala also played a strong game with 28 points, three rebounds and two assists. Phillip Dyck had 10 points and six rebounds.
