Medicine Hat College (MHC) is seeking nominations for the 2015 Business Person of the Year Award.

The candidate who is chosen will be recognized during the Connecting Students to Business Dinner on March 19 and will have a scholarship named after them.
Stephen Finnagan, dean of the Division of Business and Enterprise and chair of the selection committee explains the criteria for the award has changed a bit.
“Our division places a large emphasis on social responsibility, so we felt it was important that this was reflected in the nomination package. In addition to the past qualifying criteria we are also looking for someone who has demonstrated a commitment to environmental sustainability; a role model not only for students but under-represented groups as well.”
The public is asked to nominate someone who is business savvy, has high ethical standards and is a leader in the community as well as in their industry.
“The purpose of the Connecting Students to Business Dinner is to help students succeed in the workplace by connecting them to business people from throughout our community; by announcing the winner of this award at the event it shows our students the leaders that they have access to and provides them a role model when moving forward in their careers,” explains Finnagan.
Nominations are accepted year-round; however the deadline to qualify for this year’s award is Jan. 14.
Nomination packages received after that date will be considered for next year’s award.
An online nomination package can be downloaded at www.mhc.ab.ca.
