Theo Fleury will be heading to southern Alberta and southwest Saskatchewan on a tour promoting his new book.

Best-selling author, former NHL star and Olympic gold medalist, Fleury has partnered with world-renowned therapist Kim Barthel to announce the upcoming release of their new book Conversations With a Rattlesnake: Raw and Honest Reflections on Healing and Trauma.
Released Nov. 6, the book combines Fleury’s first-hand experience of trauma and abuse with Barthel’s therapeutic insights in hopes of inspiring other survivors to heal and reclaim their lives.
Fleury is at Great Plains College in Swift Current Nov. 25 from 3-6:30 p.m. in the Campus Gymnasium. He will also be on tour Nov. 23 at Costco Lethbridge and Nov. 24 at Costco in Medicine Hat.
Following the success of Playing with Fire, Fleury’s best-selling autobiography, Conversations With a Rattlesnake introduces Fleury’s newly-evolved mission of sharing personal experiences to help lessen the stigma of talking about childhood traumas.
Co-author Kim Barthel, whom Fleury calls the “Wayne Gretzky of Therapy,” brings her in-depth experience in relational trauma, attachment theory and sensory processing to the project.
Leveraging her scientific, psychological and intuitive knowledge, Barthel adds an incredible outlook on the process of eliminating the unnecessary and damaging shame that accompanies trauma and abuse.
Together Fleury and Barthel travel across the country, speaking with Canadians about the importance of learning from mistakes and breaking the cycle of trauma.
In support of these efforts, the duo also co-host an internet radio show, continue to facilitate national forums on healing, and in the new year will launch a “CWAR” app to stay connected with those interested in healing and collective support.
