Hopefully everybody will stay safe, but one wonders with all the talk about Bill 6 and all the changes and implementation of new laws for farm workers, how much will really change this year.

The 66th Annual Canadian Mental Health Association’s Mental Health Week is May 1-7 and May is national mental health month. It’s sad it has taken so long for people to start to understand the importance of the need of good mental health or even what it means.

Last year Tracy Bowie decided to do something different. She wanted to reach out to women who were living in southwest Saskatchewan who grew up without a mom and bring them all together. They could share their stories of life devoid of an important parental figure.

Terri Robson has been a survivor and is now a thriver. Robson, a resident of Edmonton, was in Medicine Hat Feb. 23-24 to make a presentation to the teachers convention for instructors in southeast Alberta schools. 

Argaw Argaw, the Brooks and County Immigration Services settlement counsellor, is well known in the County of Newell and the City of Brooks for his diligent and tireless altruism. Now, the rest of Canada is also getting to know him. He is one of the finalists in the RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards (rbctop25.com).

The Saskatchewan government and more specifically Education Minister Don Morgan blinked.

When one goes into business, the general rule of thumb is that anyone who is in the same business is generally considered competition.

Neubauer Farms is always busy as the owners combine both the regular agriculture production as many farms do, but with an added educational tourism component.

Pushing through of an idyllic agenda by large egos, not enough time, lack of foresight or maybe just not caring enough to see the whole picture — these factors seem to have crept  their way into provincial and federal politics.

Education Don Morgan and seemingly, the urban-based media, are wrong: libraries aren’t irrelevant.
