Collision on Highway 3 near Coalhurst causes injuries

On May 11, at approximately 7:29 a.m. Lethbridge RCMP were dispatched to an injury motor vehicle collision on Hwy 3 near Coalhurst. Coalhurst Fire Dept also attended the scene.

As a result of further investigation, it is believed that a black 2003 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by a 18-year-old female from Coaldale was exiting the Town of Coalhurst when the vehicle was hit by a 2004 gold Toyota Corolla traveling west on Highway 3.

The collision caused the driver of the Toyota Corolla a 56 year old male from Stirling to be transported to Chinook Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol is not considered a factor.
A woman from Coaldale has been charged in relation to this collision for proceeding unsafely after stopping at an intersection under the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulation.
