Separate crashes in southwest Alta. leave two dead

On August 1 at 3:05 p.m., a single motor vehicle collision occurred on the west bound lanes, 3 km east of Fort Macleod on Highway # 3. A Dodge van entered the north ditch and struck dirt burm and rolled onto its roof. The male and female were transported to hospital via ambulance.

At this time the female passenger has succumbed to her injuries at the Lethbridge Chinook Hospital and passed away. The male is seeking medical attention also. The names of the vehicle occupants are not being released pending next of kin notification. 
Alcohol is not a factor in the collision. Both occupants had utilized the vehicle restraint system.
Also on Aug. 1, at 12:40 p.m. Vulcan RCMP were dispatched to a single motor Vehicle accident approximately one kilometer north of the Little Bow Provincial Park on Range Road 222. Vulcan Fire and Nanton EMS also attended the scene.
As a result of the investigation it was determined that a 35 year old Calgary male, Allan Collins who was driving a stolen Suzuki street bike north bound lost control and left the road on a gradual corner at a high rate of speed entering the ditch.
The male was thrown from the street bike and sustained undetermined injuries. The male was unresponsive to medical treatment when Fire and EMS arrived and as a result died on scene.
The collision is still under investigation by Vulcan RCMP.
