The Medicine Hat Grannies for Africa are at it again, preparing for their Annual Fabric, Yarn and More Sale.

This is the fifth year for the Hat Grannies, fundraising event in support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothers to Grandmother Campaign and it will go March 10.
The Hat Grannies, Fabric, Yarn and More Sale take place at St. John’s Presbyterian Church (504 2nd Street SE) in Medicine Hat
Launched in 2006, the Campaign is a Canadian grassroots response to the emerging crisis faced by African grandmothers as they struggle to care for millions of children orphaned due to the AIDS/HIV epidemic.
Over the past five years, the Hat Grannies fundraising events has raised over $30,000 for African home-based care and support programs. All funds raised by the Hat Grannies, are sent directly to the Stephen Lewis Foundation, earmarked for the African Grandmothers Campaign. The Hat Grannies hope to continue to beat their previous years’ totals and are looking for the support of the community in this endeavor.
It runs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Entrance fee is $1 at the door.
The Hat Grannies are accepting donations until March 1 of all items related to fiber arts (fabric, yarn, notions, sewing machines etc.). So clean your cubbies and closets and help support our local Hat Grannies for Africa fundraiser.
Call Joanie at 403-526-9005 or Judy at 403-527-7090 to arrange for pick up of your donations.
