Gleichen RCMP on scene at pedestrian fatality

At 3:50 a.m. today, Gleichen RCMP responded to a call of a pedestrian collision on Highway 901 near Siksika Nation.


Preliminary investigation indicates that a motor vehicle struck an adult female pedestrian who was declared deceased on scene.  The vehicle involved in the collision left the scene and the driver has not been identified.  There is limited information in relation to the involved vehicle, although RCMP believe it may have been a grey Honda.
The RCMP Collision Analyst is attending the collision location to conduct an investigation.  Traffic is being diverted on Highway 901 and this area will be impassable during the investigation.
