Extremely high wind peels off roof at Nanton High School

Nanton RCMP report that strong winds up to 100km/hrs peeled off the roof of the local J T FOSTER High School in Nanton around 10 a.m. this morning.

RCMP described the scene, that the wind lifted the roof off the high school in one massive piece, like tearing a bed sheet off a bed.
Staff and students were evacuated and sent home. No injuries have been reported.
RCMP are not recommending travel in the area due to the extreme high winds and have reported several vehicles overturned off Highway 2.
