Business or potential business owners who have found it difficult to know how best to market their business, can get some well-informed  advice for free.

Trisha Sewell has been hired as the marketing specialist for the Return to Rural initiative.

Born and raised in Youngstown, Sewell headed to Calgary for post-secondary schooling, earning a Bachelors of Communication in Marketing. She worked in Calgary for awhile and then personal reasons brought her back to the southeast corner.

“I am a Return to Rural success story,” she says, about the fact she has been able to live and work in the area in which she grew up. “I realized the potentials here in this area.”

Now she has the opportunity to help other people see the potential for business success in the SAMDA economic partnership area.

Individuals who are thinking about starting up a business or those who already have a business in the SAMDA area can contact Sewell for advice about marketing.

So can those people who are needing help in business succession planning.

“Anyone can contact me and get additional information about how to market their business,” says Sewell.

Finding new ways to market a business is especially important in rural areas. Social media tools have now allowed rural businesses to tap into global clientele.

“That allows us to expand our economic base and thus our revenue base.”

Sewell will travel to the individual seeking advice, and her services are free if you live in the SAMDA area.

She can be reached by phoning 403-512-2515.
