Nearly a quarter of million worth of marijuana seized near Irvine June 27

A major drug bust near Irvine Monday resulted in charges for a British Columbia male.

At approximately 10:30 am on June 27 RCMP officers from Redcliff Detachment with the assistance of the Roving Traffic Unit stopped an eastbound vehicle on the Trans Canada Highway just west of Irvine.

Investigation led officers to find approximately 33 lbs of cannabis marijuana.

A British Columbia male has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Police estimate the value of the drugs seized to be around $225,000.
