Lethbridge teen’s legacy lives on through a song

Although they are more than 3,000 kilometres away, Ontario-based singing group, Hello Bella, was deeply touched when they learned about the trials of Lethbridge teen, Kaitlin Boyda, whose final gesture reflected her spirit of generosity.

Nanton families buoyed by community support

Five families directly affected by grassfires which burned up the land near Nanton the beginning of January know their community is behind them.
A successful fundraiser held the end of January saw money being raised for both the Nanton Food Bank and the Nanton Community Emergency Fund.

January 4 will be indelibly etched in the minds of the Hester family, as a perfect storm of disastrous conditions led to the incineration of their family business.
Those conditions included hurricane force winds and a dry-as-tinder landscape, combined with hot embers from someone else’s stove. As a result, S.R. Horse Training of Fort Macleod was levelled, but the Hesters are now trying to rebuild, slowly, but surely.
