Citizen West kicks off Stars for Sask. series

The Swift Current Arts Council's 2017/18 Stars for Saskatchewan concert series started on a high note with a performance by the pop/crossover group Citizen West, Sept. 21.

A good playoff run helped the Swift Current Broncos to generate a profit of $135,922 for the 2016-17 season.

The Chinook School Division's maintenance department is still able to deal with incoming work requests, despite some staffing adjustments during the past year as a result of budget limitations.

Road to Swift Current Airport to be paved in 2018

The R.M. of Swift Current No. 137 has entered into an agreement with Delta Aggregates for the paving of the road to the Swift Current Airport.

Volunteers helped to plant trees and shrubs at various locations around Swift Current in preparation for the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games during the 9th annual Go Green Friday, Sept. 15.

Boiler room causes Herbert school’s flood

A major project to replace mechanical and electrical equipment at Herbert School had to be carried out shortly before the start of the new school year.

A part of the history of the old Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field lives on next to the sports field at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School (SCCHS).

A new registered non-profit organization in Swift Current wants to promote the benefits of skateboarding to people of all ages.
Swift Current Skateboarding Inc. officially launched to the public at the City of Swift Current's fall/winter city wide registration event for community groups, which took place at Kinetic Park, Sept. 13.

A portion of the proceeds from the MNP Bronco Alumni Golf Classic was donated to the City of Swift Current’s Safe Places – Youth Certified initiative.

Terry Fox Run in Swift Current, Sept. 17, 2017

There were 36 participants at the 37th annual Terry Fox Run in Swift Current, Sept. 17. The event started at Riverside Park and participants walked or run along the scenic Chinook Parkway on a sunny fall day. They raised $5,254 for the Terry Fox Foundation, which uses 84 cents of every dollar raised for cancer research.
