Well workshop in Milk River to improve poorly maintained wells

Almost half-a-million Albertans use their well water for household purposes as well as for land and livestock needs. Knowing how to maintain a working well is essential to keeping wells functioning properly and efficiently, and to ensuring that well water is clean and contamination free.

A water well management workshop, being held in Milk River on February 21, will provide information and details on what landowners can do to ensure that their wells are working and their water supply is protect. Attendees will learn:
    * how groundwater works
    * how to do water quality and quantity testing
    * how to protect a well from contamination
    * basic well maintenance
    * how to complete water sampling
