David Anderson M.P. Cypress Hills-Grasslands has once again been appointed Parliamentary Secretary for the Canadian Wheat Board and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources.

Anderson is looking forward to returning to Ottawa with a majority Government, “It’s great to be back in Ottawa, and to be able to continue my work on the Natural Resources and CWB portfolios.” Anderson adds, “I am particularly pleased to be able to move forward on bringing market choice to our Western Canadian farmers.”

Prime Minister Stephen Harper yesterday announced his team of 28 Parliamentary Secretaries who will assist ministers with their parliamentary duties. “Parliamentary Secretaries are a key link between ministers and parliamentarians. They help to ensure strong and productive relations with all members of parliament, and will play a critical role in assisting our Government to deliver on its commitments to Canadians.”

“Our stable, national Government has a strong team of men and women to lead the way toward greater economic prosperity and security for Canada,” said the Prime Minister.

Saskatchewan retains a large portion of the country’s oil, gas and grain industry’s interests.  Anderson sees his appointment as a good fit. “Energy is such an important part of the south west Saskatchewan economy. This is a great opportunity for me as the M.P. for Cypress Hills-Grasslands.”

Anderson was first appointed Parliamentary Secretary for the Canadian Wheat Board in February 2006, and was assigned additional responsibilities as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources in October 2007.
