Lexi Hicks was announced as the 2016 Frontier Days Ambassador. The Swift Current Ag and Ex Association made the announcement in a release today.

Six working groups have been created to look at various areas of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and recommend how employment standards, OHS and labour relations requirements should be applied under the Enhanced Protection for Farm and Ranch Workers Act which came into effect earlier this year.

4-H show and sale season coming in the region

It’s the 4-H Show and Sale season in southeast  Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Agriculture was front and centre at the Medicine Hat College May 5 as the Entrepreneur Development Centre’s (EDC) Summer Company program celebrated four winning entries receiving grants for start-up businesses. Each of those companies received the full grant of $10,000.

Alberta producers enter the 2016 crop production season with many of the same questions and concerns as last year and maybe more so.
