Staff members at Kate Andrews High School in Coaldale collectively dropped 108 pounds on their way to raising more than $5,000 for the Coaldale Food Bank during a six-week wellness campaign.

Students in Alberta should have an education system that’s flexible, engaging and respectful of all.

It might be a nice (but likely windy) day to be outside Thursday, but for the more than 60 people scheduled to jump into an ice-cube-filled pool of freezing water, not so much.

The University of Lethbridge’s International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) team is the top team in Canada, and has made it to the top  eight per cent of all teams entered at the International Genetically Engineered Machines competition in Boston, Massachusetts, which wrapped up Nov. 7.

It’s teachers for turkeys time in Coaldale

More than a dozen staff at Kate Andrews High School have signed up to the KA Teachers for Turkeys Weight Loss Challenge, a unique fundraiser that will support the Coaldale Food Bank’s provision of Christmas food hampers.

Researchers at the University of Lethbridge and several partner organizations are establishing a unique collaborative centre to research  issues relating to urban aboriginal communities in Alberta and Canada.
