On March 10th the Fort Macleod RCMP were dispatched to a structure fire on the 500 block of 18th Street.  Fort Macleod fire department attended the scene and were able to bring the fire under control before extensive damage occurred.

A driver and his passenger are lucky to have suffered only injuries after a vehicle/train collision at a marked crossing on Highway 3 near Fort Macleod.

On March 3, Canada Border Services Agency officers at the port of Coutts, Alberta, referred a female traveller from the United States for further examination. The woman was travelling with an adult male and two children.

Fraud Prevention Month (FPM) gives private and public organizations involved in the fight against fraud an opportunity to raise public awareness.  According to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center, Canadians reported more than 47,000 complaints and lost more than $62 million dollars to frauds perpetrated through Identity Theft and Mass Marketing schemes in 2011.

Massive gun seizure at Coutts border crossing

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today the seizure of a large cache of firearms and weapons. CBSA officers at the Coutts, Alberta port of entry seized 75 firearms, including 48 handguns — four of which were loaded — one blowgun, one pistol crossbow and 12 high capacity magazines. This is the largest handgun seizure in the history of the port of Coutts.

A Nanton man has died from an apparent drug overdose over the weekend.
