Milk River emergency department closed Oct. 12

The Milk River Emergency Department will be closed tomorrow, Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. until 
5 p.m. as no physician coverage is available.

Vulcan doctor wins physician of the year award

The Alberta College of Family Physicians recently selected Dr. Len Wade of Vulcan as family physician of the year.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) has lifted the contamination advisory for Milk River at Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park. Weekly water testing has confirmed that all bacterial levels are now well below maximum acceptable guidelines, meaning water is again safe for swimming and wading.

Following the closure of the unapproved Victor Proctor piercing operation, located within the Tommy Gun Tattoo shop, in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta Health Services (AHS) is advising all individuals who received piercings from this operator be tested for viruses that can be spread through unsanitary piercing procedures.

Southern Alberta
Due to bacterial contamination caused by fecal coliforms, Alberta Health Services is advising the public not to swim or wade in the Milk River at Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park. Signage has been posted around the park advising the public of this risk.
