Past history did not repeat itself this past May long weekend, as Tourism, Parks and Recreation have reported no major incidents of misbehaviour in the Rockies or Porcupine Hills.

Regional water treatment plant now under construction

The soil has now turned and construction of Vauxhall’s new multi-million dollar water treatment plant is underway, and will replace existing plants in the communities of Vauxhall, Hays and Enchant.

Although most southern Albertans have likely taken note of the large sign posted alongside Highway 2 north of Cayley, announcing the turn off to the Bar U Ranch, many have likely thought, I really need to check that place out someday.

Due to flooding conditions, Leitch Collieries, a Provincial Historic Resource and interpretive historic site located off Highway 3 in the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass, will be closed to visitors until further notice.

Heavy rain in southwest Alberta May 24

An intense low pressure system over Southern Alberta has produced substantial amounts of rain over southern portions of the province.

Some campgrounds, day-use areas and trails throughout the mountain parks will open later than planned this spring due to unusually high snow packs, cold weather and damage caused by avalanches stemming from high snowfall this past winter.
