The first long weekend of summer, combined with the sun and warm weather, made provincial parks a popular destination, as people from all over Saskatchewan and beyond headed to the parks to camp, boat and enjoy the sunshine.

The improvements to Saskatchewan's Provincial Parks continue, with the addition of a new service centre, electrical service to 118 campsites and upgraded electrical service in 69 campsites in Cypress Hills Interprovincal Park.

Saskatchewan's annual Free Fishing Weekend will be July 9-10. One weekend each year is designated where residents and visitors may fish in Saskatchewan without having to purchase a licence.
