Teachers, government going to special mediator

At the request of both parties, Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister and Attorney General Don Morgan has appointed Richard Hornung, Q.C. as special mediator to help end the dispute between the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation and the Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee (Saskatchewan School Boards' Association and the Government of Saskatchewan).

Creating Community at the University of Saskatchewan

This year new students to the University of Saskatchewan are encouraged to join a Learning Community in the first term (September – December) of their first year. A Learning Community is a small group of first-year students who sign-up for a common set of either two or three of their courses together and meet once a week with successful upper-year students to make the connection between their studies and their world.

Saskatchewan teachers returning to bargaining table

The Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation has accepted the government's offer to return to the bargaining table.

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall and Cypress Hills-Grasslands Member of Parliament David Anderson were among the guests of honour as Great Plains College today celebrated the official unveiling of a $13.5 million renovation and expansion project at its Swift Current campus. Premier Wall and MP Anderson were both on hand to offer their congratulations on the timely completion of the project and its anticipated impact on training and education opportunities for residents of Saskatchewan's southwest region.
